“you live like this, sheltered, in a delicate world, and you believe you are living. then you read a book… or you take a trip… and you discover that you are not living, that you are hibernating. the symptoms of hibernating are easily detectable: first, restlessness. the second symptom (when hibernating becomes dangerous and might degenerate into death): absence of pleasure. that is all. it appears like an innocuous illness. monotony, boredom, death. millions live like this (or die like this) without knowing it. they work in offices. they drive a car. they picnic with their families. they raise children. and then some shock treatment takes place, a person, a book, a song, and it awakens them and saves them from death. some never awaken.”

"A true artist does not define success based upon approval from others. A true artist need only please himself."

Always.

Wednesday 11 April 2012

the pitter patter of the rain is
the soothing hand on my back
Hey. Hey, its going to be okay.
its the one tune
I could leave on the record forever, and
the plunging raindrops
were the only thing that
kept me company on
Sunday afternoons

something I wrote on 03.09.12.

Photobucket
I haven't been taking photos that much. I've been itching to take some selfies but the batteries died for my remote. This is the view from across the street of my house, I guess it goes to show you that I simply can't stop taking pictures. Whenever I see an interesting: face, light, location, anything, I always wish I had my camera in my hands.

"Being tender and open is beautiful. As a woman, I feel continually shhh’ed. Too sensitive. Too mushy. Too wishy washy. Blah blah. Don’t let someone steal your tenderness. Don’t allow the coldness and fear of others to tarnish your perfectly vulnerable beating heart. Nothing is more powerful than allowing yourself to truly be affected by things. Whether it’s a song, a stranger, a mountain, a rain drop, a tea kettle, an article, a sentence, a footstep, feel it all – look around you. All of this is for you. Take it and have gratitude. Give it and feel love."
